im sure everyone will agree that the blogging got old fast, but hey its what we have to do. that college right? anyway NYC is amazing. great place to get a fake ID. and i think the beauty that NYC can show helps to make people appreciate shit.

I agree with you and Heather. It is a tough time of year to be looking for the good life especially when I am buried in psychology papers up to my ears. And the hardest draft for me so far is the 3rd one. I just cannot seem to complete it where it makes sense. Its almost over and then we will have a nice big break and we can enjoy life:) Also I love the City in Christmas time as well!! My Boyfriend and I went last year, but there is no time this year to go. Good luck with the rest of your semester!!

Ahh I agree with you and Heather, it is time to end the blogging. The last couple weeks of school are always high stress and no sleep, and I think it is hard for anyone to stay upbeat and live the good life. Especially when Christmas is right around the corner, you want to work more so you can afford gifts and rent and heating bills, but you are so bogged down with final papers and presentations and projects and exams and it’s freezing cold outside and you haven’t slept in three days and you just want it all to be over so you can go take a long nap. Ha ha. Merry Christmas

Katie, I know it’s not the same, but I lost my brother 18 years ago on 9/21, I have the same feelings as you. those fall days remind me of him so much. My first essay I wrote about the day he died and I can remember every detail like it is happening at this very moment. In a way I am glad I still can because I don’t want to forget. It is hard but be thankful that we still have the memories. Best wishes!!

Katie- I am very sorry for your loss. I completely understand about these days surrounding the anniversary. I lost my dad (stepdad) 4 years ago and I still sometimes can’t get over it. Important thing is, take the time for yourself to do the things you need to do on that day or those days to grieve or reflect, its important to take care of you. Great post…glad you could share this with us.

I read your article, but I do not agree with many of the views that are held within it. The article states that our generation works longer hours than generations before us, but we can never seem to get ahead. How has that changed at all from the generations before? The working class has always worked long hours, and has never really gotten ahead. I think what has changed is that now the media and technology has given us the ILLUSION that wealth is within our reach, and that we CAN live a life of leisure. But in actuality, most of the working class people of our generation will always stay as working class people, working hard for the money, never getting too far ahead.

I just had to comment on this blog entry…GO REDSOX!! I am a big fan as well, and your right for the redsox fans alike that spread across the northeast, maybe even the nation, we are on the good life high right now, and it just keeps continuing. There is something truly to be said about the dynamics of this team, which pull you in and makes every fan feel apart of the action, its like a super extended family. Lets win the WORLD SERIES!!!

Im rooting for the sox but my uncle is a die hard colorado fan. I wore my Schilling jersey yesterday for good luck and I think it worked. But it is very true that some of my best memories are ones that include sports. I can’t seem to explain it, but it makes me happy and others happy. I think it is just a time for us to be involved with one thing that isn’t going to destroy our lives. For that moment of time we can worry just about that game and not what is going on in our lives.
